Adobe has released a new version of Flash. I will have to tell you that I have not been excited about a program language since I started learning Java in college. They have completely changed the way you program in Flash and I like it. I have been playing with it a little and at work we will be moving toward Flash 9 as soon as possible. Ever since I picked up Flash and ActionScript I have always felt it was sloppy and not structured at all; and this was because I was coming from languages like Java, C++ and VB.NET. With the release of AS3 this has completely changed the way it works and the greatest part is that i claims to run 100 times faster that AS2 code, I have not done any test and don't plan on doing so, but that sound really promising. I will have to learn how it all works because they have added a new Sprite object and implemented display list, but I am exicted about this since 90% of my work is done in Flash. So...hats off to AS3 for moving forward and getting rid of sloppy code.
I will continue to post about AS3 and the new Flash 9 IDE as I delve more into it.
